GM Uzbekistan to raise car prices
From August 1, 2018, Uzbek automaker GM Uzbekistan will raise prices for cars, Uzbek media reported citing Chairman of the Board of the automobile company Uzavtosanoat JSC Shavkat Umurzakov as saying at the meeting of the International Press Club.
According to Umurzakov, the prices for the company’s cars will grow by an average of 14 percent. The chairman of the board, however, noted that the company plans to provide discounts for consumers.
Sky City to be constructed in Tashkent
Acting khokim (governor) of Tashkent city Jahongir Artykkhodjaev approved a project on construction of Sky City in Tashkent, the press service of the Tashkent khokimiyat said.
The project was presented within the “Open Day” of the city administration. SF Global is the initiator of the project Sky City. The cost of the project is US$500 million. Half of these funds investors are ready to invest in urban amenities.
Tashkent to host conference on new transport corridors in Central Asia
Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, will host an international conference titled “Central Asia in the system of international transport corridors: strategic perspectives and unrealized opportunities” on September 20-21, the Foreign Trade Ministry of Uzbekistan stated.
Uzbekistan plans to establish Eximbank
Minister of Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev, during a meeting with the World Bank mission headed by Stefka Slavova, senior specialist in finance, competition and innovative development of the World Bank, said that the ministry is developing a concept for the creation of the Eximbank, the National Export Promotion Agency and the Export Credit Insurance Agency in Uzbekistan.
ADB and Uzbekistan sign loan agreement for US$300 million
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan today signed a loan agreement worth US$300 million to help improve economic governance in Uzbekistan, which will contribute to ensuring macroeconomic stability and high economic growth in the country.
