Jizzakh to host International Investment Forum
On August 29-30, 2018, Jizzakh region will host International Investment Forum. Participants of the event will get acquainted with the exhibition of commodity producers of the region.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, investors, heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Uzbekistan, domestic and foreign journalists are invited to the forthcoming forum.

Production areas of the former spinning mill in Jizzakh, which are on the balance of Elegans Teks, remain inactive for 20 years.
In this regard, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs (Uznatsbank) and New Light General Trading FZCO (UAE), which together own a 76% stake in Elegans Teks, filed a lawsuit.
In their statement, participants asked to exclude Portway LLC (USA) from the list of participants, which owns the remaining 24%.
Uzbekistan supported the proposal to develop a single visa in Central Asia
Uzbekistan supported the proposal of Kazakhstan to develop a single Asian visa, the so-called “silk schengen”.
During a press conference on August 7, it became known that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are carrying out preparatory work in this direction and providing a single visa to tourists visiting Central Asian countries is included in the medium-term plans.

In July, Ukraine exported 36.7 thousand tons of sugar. 89% of them fell on Uzbekistan.

The construction of a modern medical complex in the Khatlon region will be carried out within the framework of the implementation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s resolution “On measures to expand bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan” and the agreement reached between the governments of the two countries.
