Non-core assets of Uzbekneftegaz will be transferred to private business
Non-core and unused assets of organizations that are part of Uzbekneftegaz are sold to private ownership through public tenders, the Cabinet of Ministers said in a resolution.
The document notes that such a measure was adopted to strengthen and improve the financial and economic state of the organizations of JSC Uzbekneftegaz, further effective and targeted use of non-core and unused assets of oil and gas industry organizations.
The list of assets sold to private businesses includes more than 150 buildings and enterprises. They will be sold at market value.
Influence of foreign investments on agriculture in Uzbekistan
Within the framework of attracted direct foreign investments to Uzbekistan, in July-August of this year, partners of the joint venture from the United States visited Jizzakh region. BMB Trade Group and Silverleafe International are actively working on attracting foreign direct investment and implementing a modern agro-logistics cluster, as well as implementing projects on introducing modern technologies into the agro-industry of Jizzakh region.
The main tasks of the company are cultivation, deep processing and manufacturing of finished products from cotton with an emphasis on export to foreign countries within the framework of agro-industrial complex.
Uzbekistan – Belarus cooperation expands
A meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Belarus was held at the International business center within the framework of the visit of the delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Rusy to Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed current issues of cooperation in trade-economic, tourism, cultural-humanitarian, and a number of other areas.
Three museums to be transferred to self-reliance with the involvement of business
The museum renovation program is being launched. The first will be the Museum of Applied Arts, the Savitsky Art Museum and the Aibek House Museum.
In Uzbekistan, they will begin to implement the model of financing museums based on the principle of self-sufficiency, follows from the presidential decree, published on August 26.
The model provides for a step-by-step transition to the formation of at least 30% of the budget of museums at the expense of funds received from entrepreneurial activities, including with the involvement of business on the terms of public-private partnership. Not less than 15% is planned to be formed at the expense of charity.
Turnover of retail trade reaches $87.6 billion in January-July
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the turnover of large enterprises in the reporting period reached 9.03 trillion soums (growth rate 18.5%), small business entities – 59.91 trillion soums (growth rate of 2.2%).
An increase in growth rates was observed in all regions of Uzbekistan. Turnover of retail trade, as compared to the same period of last year, as well as relatively high growth rates were observed in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Khorezm and Republic of Karakalpakstan.
