ACCELS to attract US specialists for educational entrepreneurship programs
American Councils for International Education will promote the promotion of mutual understanding between citizens of Uzbekistan and the United States, the organization of international exchanges and internships for students and undergraduates, teachers.
In addition, the organization will launch programs to support university partnerships and ties, including the involvement of US specialists in Uzbekistan in educational programs related, including entrepreneurship, the transfer of innovative technologies, the commercialization of intellectual property products.
Ministry of Transport to be created in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan will create Ministry of Transport. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on 28 August 2018 on improving management in the field of road transport, expanding the scale of transport services.
During the meeting, it was noted that the Uzbek Agency for Automobile Transport has not yet established the implementation of integrated state policy on development of transport sector.
20 agreements are signed at the International Investment Forum
The event is held jointly by the State Committee for Investments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the khokimiyat of Jizzakh region.
Forum was attended by about 300 representatives from 28 countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Spain, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Turkey, India, China, South Korea, Japan, UAE, Israel, Kazakhstan and Singapore.
Uzbekistan and Tatarstan to develop cooperation in the banking sector
On August 29, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the joint-stock commercial bank Ak Bars of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) and the banking sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the export-import insurance company Uzbekinvest.
As reported by the Press Service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, representatives of Ak Bars Bank noted that cooperation with Uzbekistan’s banks on trade finance plays an important role in developing foreign economic activity of Uzbekistan and Russia. Within the framework of the meeting, commercial banks of Uzbekistan expressed readiness for cooperation with Ak Bars Bank in the field of servicing foreign trade contracts of exporting companies and importers.
Uzpromstroybank expands cooperation with banks of Tajikistan
Uzpromstroybank and Amonatbank (Tajikistan) signed a partnership agreement for US$10 million.
The credit line is provided to the Tajik bank for promotion and financing of the export of Uzbek goods to Tajikistan.
Earlier in March 2018, Uzpromstroybank signed an agreement with Tajikistan-based Orienbank, the practical implementation of which has already begun and financed a deal worth US$5 million.
Small industrial zone “Orzu” was created in Namangan
10 enterprises have already been commissioned on the territory of the industrial zone. For example, Orzu Ideal tekstil has a production capacity of 250 thousand pieces of clothing per year and an expected volume of exports of $ 2 million dollars created 500 jobs.
