Uzbek Ambassador in Austria holds talks with President of Esarom GmbH
On 12 January 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Austria Sherzod Asadov met with the President of the food additives manufacturing company Esarom GmbH, Ernst Kuntz, as well as Chief Executive Officer Michael Kornberger, Finance Director Stefan Möltz and Country Director for CIS Alla Brodyansky.
During the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan were substantively discussed, including creation in our country of high-tech production of food ingredients, as well as attraction of the company’s experience in promoting Uzbek confectionery products and the food industry in general on international and regional markets.
At this stage, the company expressed its willingness to jointly develop a number of recipes, which meet international standards organic, halal and kosher in conjunction with Uzbek partners for the purpose of establishing their production in Uzbekistan.
Swisslab invests several million dollars in creating a network of laboratories in Uzbekistan
The National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek-Swiss company Swisslab signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which is designed for five years with the possibility of extension by agreement of the parties. The Swiss side will invest $ 12 million at the first stage.
This will be the first network of laboratories that perform the main types of analysis in the shortest possible time – from two hours. In addition, the patient will be able to directly observe the implementation of research from the moment of taking the biomaterial to obtaining test results.
At the first stage, these services will be provided throughout Tashkent, where the laboratory and 15 points for taking biomaterials will operate. Further plans include the expansion of services throughout the country.
Malaysian engineering company intends to open representative office in Uzbekistan
Today, large-scale work is carried out in Uzbekistan on the rapid development of the construction industry, increasing its productivity through the introduction of modern and innovative methods.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia held talks with one of the leading Malaysian companies in the field of residential and non-residential construction Hadid Engineering.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached on opening the office of Hadid Engineering in Uzbekistan. Specific steps for further cooperation will be discussed by the leadership of the Khorezm region and company representatives on January 24 during the upcoming Uzbek-Malaysian business forum in Malaysia.
The state share “Uzbekgidroenergo” is transferred to the Digital Trust fund
The Digital Trust Fund for the Development of the Digital Economy will act as a shareholder on behalf of the state in the authorized capital of Uzbekgidroenergo
This decision was made to introduce modern methods of corporate governance into the management system of Uzbekgidroenergo, as well as to ensure the needs of enterprises and the public in electric energy through the broad involvement of foreign investment in the development of hydropower.
The fund will have to coordinate key issues with the State Assets Management Agency.
German bank will provide Uzbekistan with a long-term credit line
At the Uzbek-German business forum in Berlin, the NBU and the German KfW IPEX – Bank signed a basic loan agreement for the amount of 100 million euros, the press service of the National Bank reports.
KfW IPEX – Bank will provide NBU with a long-term credit line for financing large investment projects with a minimum amount of 5 million euros and with a term of up to ten years.
The main advantage of this agreement, compared to other attracted credit lines of European banks, is the financing of projects in all sectors of the economy, involving the import of high-tech European equipment and services from Germany and other European Union countries under the insurance coverage of export credit agencies (ECA), such as Euler Hermes, SACE and SERV.
In the Khorezm region a new plant for the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine will be built
Malaysian company Serba Dinamik has begun work on the implementation of the largest investment project in the Khorezm region on the construction of a modern energy efficient plant using the latest European technologies for the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine.
The presentation of this project took place during the visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Khorezm region. Its cost is $250 million of foreign direct investment.
To equip the plant for the production of caustic soda and liquid chlorine in the Free economic zone”Hazorasp”, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia ensured the signing of an agreement between Serba Dinamik and the world leader in the production of high-quality equipment ThyssenKrupp.
Uzbekistan to build a new oncology clinic for 50 million euros
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan has signed an agreement with the German company OPASCA German Oncology Solutions GmbH on the construction of an oncology clinic for 50 million euros.
The parties express hope to create in the Republic opportunities for diagnosing and effective treatment in the most complicated, difficult and doubtful cases.
Leading experts and scientists from Germany will be invited to work in the new institution. In turn, the Uzbek side will also learn from the foreign colleagues abroad.
Senate approved sample and design of a new banknote with face value of 100,000 soums
A banknote of a larger nominal value is put into circulation in order to increase convenience in carrying out settlements in cash, in order to reduce costs associated with carrying out cash settlements, and with storing and transporting cash.
In addition, new banknotes will improve the efficiency of receiving cash through ATMs and optimize the banknote series of the national currency.
The Central Bank also stressed that the issue of banknotes will be carried out within the current volume of money supply and will not lead to its growth.
