Uzbekistan eyes reforms regarding customs, renewable energy fields
In order to further liberalize the legislation on customs, increase the country’s investment attractiveness in recent years, as in all spheres and sectors of the country’s economy, the customs service is carrying out important structural changes in the matter of simplifying the customs clearance of foreign economic activity.
The adoption of the bill will serve to improve the legal framework for the activities of customs bodies, the introduction of additional legal mechanisms to effectively ensure guarantees for the reliable protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as participants in foreign economic activity.
First Central Asian economic forum may be held in Uzbekistan
This forum will serve as a new excellent platform for establishing a direct dialogue between the business communities and the authorities of the region in the field of trade, industry, will help to find the best conditions for the entry of goods and services produced in Central Asia to foreign markets.
Recently, the government of the country decided to reduce or reset the tariff rates of import duties on the import and transportation of a significant amount of goods. Naturally, the countries of Central Asia will be the main beneficiaries of these measures.

Uzbekistan increases export of cherries to China
Uzbekistan intends to supply to China about 20,000 tons of high-quality cherries in the next season.
The Uzbek “BigArologistics” company exported the first batch of cherries to China on June 4. The samples for the holding of 40 kinds of laboratory tests of the exported products were taken by the specialists of the receiving side. Full implementation of each stage of preparation of the batch of goods for the export on the basis of agreements reflected in the protocol was positively evaluated.
Housing developers in Uzbekistan exempt from paying sales percentage
After the completion of the construction of residential buildings, the state will not be paid the percentage off the real estate sales.
The entrepreneurs and foreign investors presented at this event their projects for the further development of Tashkent, its industrial production, service sector and maintenance services, as well as other industries. In total, 55 major projects for 11 districts of the city were presented.
Salaries in Uzbekistan increase by more than 20 percent
The average monthly nominal accrued salary in Uzbekistan amounted to about 1.61 million soums in January-March 2018, which is 21.4 percent more compared to the same period in 2017.
According to the data of the State Statistics Committee, this amount includes allowances for wages, remuneration, incentive payments, compensation payments and payment for non-worked time, as well as income tax withheld from individuals, social insurance contributions and allocations to the trade union fund.
Legal Entities switch to single identifiers, the seal requirement is cancelled
The resolution approved the “Road Map” with a list of specific measures, deadlines and executors. One of the sections simplifies the following:
- legal entities will be given the opportunity to remotely open bank accounts;
- state bodies will be prohibited from requiring companies to stamp in documents or to certify documents with a seal;
- at registration of the company it will be necessary to specify in the application the order of the taxation and the director.
