Siemens is to build 100 MW wind farm in Uzbekistan
Uzbekenergo is now working with Siemens on a project of a 100 MW wind farm in Zarafshan district of Navoi province, with the estimated project cost at US$ 100 million.
Based on the atlas Uzbekenergo identified two promising sites – in Navoi region and the southern Karakalpakstan for further detailed WEP studies.
The Ministry of Finance forecasts the growth of Uzbekistan’s external debt to 23.7% of GDP
It is reported that the amount of the state debt is annually determined by the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis when adopting the State Budget and the budgets of state trust funds for the next year.
In 2018, according to forecasts, external debt will amount to 23.7% of the country’s GDP. In 2017, it was 18.5% (with a GDP of 249 trillion soums).
The President signed a decree on measures to develop nuclear energy in Uzbekistan
The document states that the current active investment policy aimed at expanding existing and creating new production capacities requires providing reliable energy sources, the need for which increases from year to year.
The decree requires to develop:
until October 1 – the draft law “On the Use of Atomic Energy for Peaceful Purposes”;
until December 20 – draft Concept for the development of nuclear energy for the period 2019-2029;
until June 1, 2019 – a portfolio of investment projects for the development of nuclear energy in accordance with the developed concept;
until November 1, 2019 – the draft state program for the development of nuclear energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period
New online service now available for taxpayers in Uzbekistan
It is now possible to obtain or replace an individual taxpayer number for individuals on the Single Portal of Interactive State Services of Uzbekistan.
For registration with the bodies of the State Tax Committee with the assignment of the taxpayer identification number or the introduction of changes in the registration details, a user must choose the necessary option (registration or change of registration details), fill in an electronic application form, attach a scanned copy of the passport, and then send an electronic application to the state tax inspectorate at the main place of residence.
GM Uzbekistan creates testing laboratory for Uzbek automotive industry
The laboratory has been established in order to create additional opportunities for entrepreneurs who want to start activities for localization of the production of components of cars.
The laboratory is equipped with modern devices and equipment of high accuracy and reliability, employs highly qualified specialists who have passed training courses of the “Uzstandard” Agency and other specialized agencies. The laboratory is accredited by “Uzstandard” Agency until 2020 and certified by Turkish Accreditation Agency TURKAK in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2007 standard.
