Uzbekistan plans to increase trade with Iran to $ 1 billion
The presidents of the two countries illustrated the determination to increase the volume of trade from $ 400 million to $ 1 billion at their last year’s meeting in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana. Pointing to the determination of the presidents, the ambassador of Uzbekistan stressed, that achieving this goal is one of the priorities of Uzbek officials.
Speaking of the fact that the province of Markazi (western part of Iran) has good opportunities in the field of building materials, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, the ambassador added that Uzbekistan is ready to cooperate and increase the volume of trade with this province.
During a two-day visit to the province of Markazi, Abdullayev, the ambassador of Uzbekistan, met with officials and visited various companies.
Space Research and Technology Agency to be established in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan plans to create an Agency for Space Research and Technology under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications has placed for discussion a draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures for the Development of Space Activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The draft document envisages creation of a new Agency. The agency is being created in order to effectively realize the existing scientific and technological potential to ensure the sustainable development of the country through the use of innovative space technologies in various sectors of the economy and security.
The agency “Uzbekcosmos” is a government body responsible for development and implementation of a unified state policy and strategic directions in the development and use of the space industry, the draft document says.
IMER GROUP to introduce innovative technologies for production of concrete products in Uzbekistan
Italian IMER GROUP will introduce innovative technologies for the production of concrete products in the cluster of building materials at Ahangarantsment site.
The corresponding agreement was concluded in Ahangaran between AHANGARANCEMENT, a member of the EUROCEMENT group, and NIHOL IMPEKS, a subsidiary of IMER GROUP in Uzbekistan. The document was signed by Gennady Kulikov, Director General of AHANGARANCEMENT and Kabulhoja Iqbalov, Director of NIHOL IMPEKS.
The launch of the production of high-quality concrete and reinforced concrete products for housing and infrastructure construction is scheduled for 2019. The quality of the products will meet the increased requirements for seismic stability of buildings in Uzbekistan, and the production will meet the standards of safety and environmental friendliness, which requires high technology and innovation. Minister of Foreign Trade receives delegation of Romania
The Minister of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev received the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Danut Sebastian Neculaescu.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of Uzbekistan – Romania cooperation, discussed the current state and prospects for development of trade-economic relations between the two countries, the Uzbek Ministry said in a statement.
The sides supported further deepening trade-economic ties, strengthening direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, including representatives of medium and small business. Jamshid Khojayev acquainted the Romanian side with reforms carried out in the country, including those aimed at liberalizing the economy.
Business circles of Uzbekistan and Malaysia discuss development of trade and economic relations
The Uzbek-Malaysian Business Forum and Cooperation Exchange (B2B) was organized in Tashkent on 1 November 2018 with the participation of the business circles of the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The purpose of this event is the further development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia through the implementation of promising investment projects and an increase in exports of Uzbek products to Malaysia.
At the end of the business forum, agreements were reached:
– on opening a representative office of an Uzbek company in Malaysia for export of manufactured products;
– on the creation of an Uzbek-Malaysian joint venture in the Tashkent region for production of building materials;
– consider the possibility of implementing an investment project on the organization of the production of juice and special additives in the food industry;
– on shooting of a film in Bukhara and Khorezm regions until the end of 2019;
– on signing a cooperation agreement on the provision of joint logistics services and the sale of containers to the Malaysian side for the carriage of cargo;
– on organization of the next business mission of Malaysian business circles to Uzbekistan, led by the leadership of MATRADE in the first half of 2019.
