Navoi MMC will increase the production of uranium and rare earth metals
A new site for the production of rare and rare earth metals was launched at the Navoi Mining and Мettalurgical Combinat. Navoi MMC today ranks seventh in the world in mining of uranium and production of nitrous oxide of this element. The country’s strong position in the world market and the steady growth in demand for uranium contribute to further strengthening of mining capacity.
NMMC specialists have already begun implementation (hardware implementation) in the production of new well designs, effective environmentally friendly uranium oxidizers and devices for dosing them, and the technology for processing productive solutions is being improved. Most innovations are protected by patents of Uzbekistan.
“The main advantage of new technologies is a sharp reduction in the consumption of sulfuric acid, an increase in the rate of field development and a drastic reduction in the harmful effects of the in-situ leaching method on the environment, mainly on groundwater,” said Oleg Petukhov, deputy head of the Central Research Laboratory of NMMC.
Uzbekistan orders from Rudgormash machines worth more than 1 billion rubles for the extraction of gold
“In 2018, the Russian Rudgormash fulfills a large order for the supply of equipment for the gold mining industry of Uzbekistan,” company president Anatoly Chekmenev said in an interview with Kommersant. According to him, in monetary terms, this transaction amounted to more than 1 billion rubles (more than $ 15 million).
“Under this contract we supplied drilling rigs and spare parts for them, but that’s not all. As it turned out, Uzbekistan is developing new gold deposits, where new equipment will be needed, ”said Chekmenev.
The head of the Russian company noted: “According to preliminary estimates, we hope that Uzbekistan will order equipment in approximately the same volumes in the next year.”
“Power Machines” to reconstruct Syrdarya TPP in 2018-2021
Russian company “Power Machines Group” will reconstruct Syrdarya thermal power plant (TPP) in 2018-2021. The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On approval of feasibility study of investment project “Phased modernization of power units at the Syrdarya TPP”.
Within the project, six power units of the station will be upgraded. The work will be carried out in three stages. The capacities of these stations will increase from 1,800 to 1,950 MW. The cost of the contract on a turnkey basis is US$177.1 million.
At the same time, total cost of the project is US$187.3 million. Vneshekonombank (Russia) will provide a loan in the amount of US$132 million. The rest of the project will be financed from the funds of the Uzbek side.
Hamkorbank and EBRD sign agreements
On 9 October 2018, the head office of the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank Hamkorbank was visited by a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
During a meeting between the EBRD and Hamkorbank, the Framework Agreement on Participation in Risks, funded by the risk sharing mechanism and the Framework Agreement on unfunded participation in risks, were signed. The total amount of the signed agreement is US$15 million. This framework agreement opens a new stage of cooperation between the EBRD and Hamkorbank in the area of risk sharing.
The EBRD and Hamkorbank have been cooperating for 16 years. Over the years of fruitful cooperation, the EBRD has repeatedly recognized Hamkorbank as the leading and active partner in Uzbekistan.
Electronic invoices to be introduced in three regions
Starting from 15 October, an experiment on introduction of electronic invoices in activities of all economic entities will be launched in three regions of Uzbekistan. On 6 October, the Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution on expanding the use of information and communication technologies in tax administration.
According to the document, the experiment will be conducted in Chirchik (Tashkent region), Navoi and Syrdarya regions. As part of the experiment, electronic invoices will combine the functions of consignment notes and powers of attorney to receive inventory items.
At the same time, during an experiment, companies can draw up invoices, invoices and power of attorneys on paper simultaneously with their submission in electronic form. According to the results of the experiment, the government will develop proposals for the introduction of a new order throughout the country.
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to create a plant for processing solid waste in Tashkent
SUE Makhsustrans and GorKomTRans Karagandy LLP are planning to implement a joint project on building a plant for processing solid waste in Tashkent. Recently, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation in Tashkent.
“The purpose of the document is to provide theoretical and practical advisory assistance in studying and disseminating the experience of two enterprises in municipal waste management, including organizing the collection, removal, sorting and recycling of municipal waste,” the press service of the city administration said.
