Ukrainian “Farmak” to invest $10 million in the construction of a pharmaceutical plant
The chairman of the supervisory board “Farmak” and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Ukraine have agreed on the construction of a new pharmaceutical plant.
“The new production of Farmak will expand the range of medicines that are produced in Uzbekistan, reduce dependence on imported production and create a basis for further expansion of the pharmaceutical cluster,” stressed the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine Alisher Abdualiyev.
Chinese company to introduce rail transport in the cities of Uzbekistan
The State Committee for Tourism Development, Beijing Jiufang Grand Move Transportation Equipment and the German-Chinese Cultural Exchange Association in the field of art and design signed a framework agreement on cooperation in tourism and the development of railway, including tourism, infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
The document envisages the implementation of a number of projects, including the introduction of rail transport in the cities of Uzbekistan and small sightseeing trains in the tourist areas of the Tashkent and Samarkand regions with the construction of hotels along the railway lines.
The projects will be fully funded from foreign investments
New textile factory opened in Namangan region
On 3 September 2018, an opening ceremony of a textile factory was held in Uchkurgan district of Namangan region.
It should be noted that the factory was opened as part of the Week of the textile industry.
On 5 September, the grand opening of the International Exhibition of Textile and Fashion Industry “UzTextile Expo2018” will take place. More than 100 leading companies, textile firms, specialists, scientists and experts from more than 30 countries, including Russia, Belarus, China, Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Republic Korea, India, Pakistan and Turkey will attend the event.
20 hemodialysis clinics to be established in Uzbekistan
The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the German company VAMs GmbH signed an agreement on the implementation of an investment project in the field of nephrologic and hemodialysis assistance.
The agreement provides for attraction of investments in the healthcare system of Uzbekistan in the amount of 27 million US dollars.
Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom opened a cotton plant
The Uzbek-British joint venture Amudar Tehtile was opened in Termez. The plant is equipped with modern equipment worth 13,5 million dollars.
The enterprise will produce high-quality yarn from local raw cotton. It is assumed that products worth more than $ 10 million will be exported annually.
The new production employs 700 people.
A factory for the production of metal structures was opened near Tashkent
Turkish Dal Teknik Makina Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. launched in Angren’s free economic zone (SEZ) the most modern plant in Central Asia producing metal structures.
The production capacity of the plant at the first stage will be 12 thousand tons of products per year. At the second stage, the capacity will grow twice – up to 24 thousand tons, on the third – up to 30 thousand. The Turkish company invested $ 10.7 million in the project, as a result, 170 new jobs were created.
The World Bank to finance the cultivation of vegetables and fruits in Uzbekistan
The international financial organization intends to develop farms and agribusiness in all regions of the country. The project cost is 500 million dollars.
In the near future, experts will focus on the purchase of seeds and seedlings, water-saving technologies – including drip irrigation, the construction of storage facilities and greenhouses, the purchase of equipment for processing fruits and vegetables. Also, assistance will be provided to research institutes.
Uzbekistan agreed with the Czech Republic and Israel on the construction of plants
Uzbekistan in late August – early September agreed to cooperate with a number of foreign companies – from the Czech Republic, Belarus, Israel, Tajikistan, Turkey and China, the press service of the State Committee for Investments.
During negotiations in B2G and B2B formats, the representatives of the republic signed agreements with the Czech company on the construction of a cement plant, with the Belarusian – on the creation of a center for the development of new antiviral means, and with Israel for cooperation in growing agricultural products.
Tashkent to host Uzbekistan-Egypt business forum
On 5 September 2018, Tashkent to host Uzbekistan-Egypt business forum and cooperation exchange in the B2B format.
As a result of the forum, it is planned to sign mutually beneficial investment and trade agreements in the field of tourism, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, etc. In addition, within the framework of the business forum, the issues of creating a fruit and vegetables and logistics hub in Uzbekistan will be discussed.
