Trade House of Uzbekistan to be launched in St. Petersburg
Today, within the framework of the Days of Tashkent in St. Petersburg, Smolny hosted a meeting of the deputy khokim of the city of Tashkent Elbek Shukurov with the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Sergei Movchan in an expanded format.
The meeting with the Uzbek delegation was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The meeting participants discussed the possibility of opening the Trade House of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg with permanently operating expositions.
Sergei Movchan, noting the reforms undertaken by the President of Uzbekistan, said that the northern capital of Russia with a population of more than 5.3 million people is very interested in cooperation with Tashkent. St. Petersburg’s plants and enterprises are ready for joint action. Elbek Shukurov, in turn, proposed to organize an exhibition for entrepreneurs, which will involve business representatives from all over the country.
IFC to help Ipoteka Bank to transfer its business
Uzbekistan’s Ipoteka Bank is establishing cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). The program of cooperation with the IFC, in addition to attracting foreign direct investment to Uzbekistan, includes a three-year program of bank transformation.
The initiatives and processes, which were developed together with a team of specialists and experts from IFC at the preparatory stage of the transformation were included in the project portfolio and will be implemented over the coming years. For their effective implementation, it is necessary to solve problems focused on customer service experience, as well as on the introduction of innovations that support the loyalty of the customer base.
By the end of 2020, it is planned that by opening new practices, developing innovative products and offering customers completely new types of services, Ipoteka Bank will gradually switch to an open, integrated and promising technological system that promises competitive business results and also opens up broad opportunities to differentiate services.
Israelis to build poultry factory in Uzbekistan
The Israeli company Levia Group will build a poultry factory in the Andijan region with a production capacity of 14 thousand tons of broiler meat per year.
In May of this year, specialists took a visit from Israel to the Andijan region to familiarize themselves with the proposed location of the factory. During the trip, representatives of the Levia Group inspected and approved a plot of land for construction.
Based on the results of the negotiations, Israeli company Levia Group and the Uzbekoziqovqatkholding Company signed memorandum on the establishment of a joint venture of the poultry factory of meat production. The preliminary cost of construction is 46 million dollars.
The President sets a task to develop a private school system in the country
President Shavkat Mirziyev set the task to develop a private school system in the country based on the study of foreign experience. The head of state gave the relevant instruction at a meeting on November 2 on organizing the effective implementation of the planned reforms to further develop the public education system.
At the meeting, the President noted that the field faces many challenges. So, for example, it is pointed out the slowness in the work on the automation of educational processes in the system of public education, the introduction of the electronic form of services for admission to schools and the transfer of students, the organization of private schools on the basis of public-private partnership.
It was noted that it is impossible to call the relevant modern requirements and the level of implementation of information technologies in general education schools.
Kazakhstan wants to provide mobile and online connection in Uzbekistan with a new satellite
Kazakhstan expects using the new KazSat-2R space communications system to provide telecommunications services to end-users in neighboring Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Now Kazakhstan is just preparing for the creation of KazSat-2R for the planned replacement of the KazSat-2 spacecraft, which has been in orbit since 2011. The term of the estimated active existence in the geostationary orbit of the operating satellite ends in November 2023
Now the Republican Center for Space Communications is preparing a financial and economic rationale and terms of reference for the creation and commissioning of the KazSat-2R space communication system for the planned replacement of the KazSat-2 spacecraft.
Sejin G & E will begin to produce electricity at the Akhangaran and Maidontol test sites
The project is being implemented by the South Korean company Sejin G & E, which will create a new company here and send $ 55 million in foreign direct investment.
Production will be located in the Tashkent region, in particular, Akhangaran and Parkentsky districts, where the landfills “Ahangaran” and “Maidontol” are located.
It became known that the company will install 12 generators that generate electricity from landfill gas (methane) generated at landfills with a total capacity of 16 MW (10 installations of 1,560 kW each and 2 installations of 500 kW each). Uzbekenergo is instructed to ensure the connection of the generated energy to the power grids, as well as to conclude an agreement for its purchase.
