NAPM attracts foreign companies to introduce blockchain in Uzbekistan
The national agency of project management held a meeting with representatives of a number of leading companies in the digital economy from Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China, such as Infinity Blockchain Holdings PteLtd., Wowoo XPte Ltd., EmurgoCo. Ltd. and others.
During meeting companies share their experience of application of digital technologies in the process of education. A separate round of talks was devoted to the development of the digital economy and blockchain technology.
Parties reached agreements on the participation of companies in the development of strategic projects for the introduction of blockchain technology in our country.
Mininnovation remotely raised $ 40 million to create the first online university in Uzbekistan
On October 25, for the first time in the history of the Ministry of Innovation Development, a distance agreement was signed in the building of the University of Westminster.
The cooperation document was signed between Mininnovation and educational institutions CityU (Hong Kong), UdacityX MOOC (USA), MOOC Iversity (Netherlands / Germany), Open Polytechnic (New Zealand).
Foreign partners are investing their own money in the amount of $ 40 million in the project to create a distant higher educational institution “University of the Future”. In assessing students’ knowledge, their results will be received and stored in a database in New Zealand. This factor will serve as a guarantee to prevent corruption during the exams.
Representatives of Aju University arrived to discuss opening a branch in Tashkent
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of Ajou University in the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, issues of creating the campus of Ajou University and a branch in Tashkent were discussed. It is expected that students will study in such areas as architecture, electronic engineering, and construction of engineering systems.
Admission of students is expected to begin in the autumn of 2019; the quota is designed for 420 students. Education will be conducted in English, in addition to the introduction of a programs in Korean from September 2020.
MUIC attracted to the creation of a technopark by the Korea Technoparks Association
Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center and the Association of Technoparks of South Korea signed a cooperation agreement, which provides for the participation of leading experts of the Korean organization in the creation of a technopark for the innovation center.
In particular, Korean party will participate in the development of the concept of the technopark at MUIC and its construction in Tashkent.
It is expected that the technological experience of the Korean side will create the universal IT infrastructure that will become a platform for generating ideas, translating them into products that are competitive on the external market, as well as a platform for developing startups in Uzbekistan. The structure of the technopark includes research laboratories, R & D centers, coworking spaces and other components of the innovation ecosystem.
Businessmen of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signs contracts for $ 1.5 million
The VIII Central Asian Trade Forum was held in Tashkent, where 29 Kazakhstani companies participated.
The forum was devoted to the theme “New horizons in the development of trade and investment”. Kazakhstan was represented by companies in the field of mechanical engineering, cable and wiring products, metallurgy, the agro-industrial sector, consumer goods, light industry, food, construction, as well as medical supplies. The forum gave them the opportunity to present their products and acquire a large number of potential partners.
The Kazakh side in the course of negotiations with Uzbek businessmen signed contracts totaling more than $ 1.5 million, and also signed an agreement on the supply of 20,000 tons of fish feed.
